Sailing Overnight Camp: Ages 9-16
Quinipet is the ideal location for learning to sail, and it's no wonder it's our most popular program. Our top notch instructors have taught hundreds of children how to sail while also having a lot of fun! Sailing meets Monday-Friday for 2 periods. Campers sign up for Sailing Camp separately, before coming to camp. Our fleet consists of OPTI Trainers, FJ’s, Picos, and American 18s. We offer opportunities in small boat dingy sailing and large keelboat sailing depending on skill level, availability, and, of course, the weather! *All sailors must successfully complete a swim test upon arrival to demonstrate comfort in open bay water, as specified by the NY State Department of Health. The swim check consists of four lengths (without stopping) in the deep water swimming area, treading water for 1 minute and maintaining a floating position on back for 1 minute. Sailors must also be able to demonstrate donning a life jacket in deep water. |
