COVID-19 2022 PROTOCOLS

QUINIPET SUMMER 2022 COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
We are following COVID-19 protocols from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC at Quinipet this summer.

VACCINATIONS/PRE-ARRIVAL TESTING
We are strongly encouraging all eligible campers and camp families to receive a full complement of a COVID-19 vaccine prior to arriving at camp. This helps create a healthier camp community for everyone.

DAY and OVERNIGHT CAMPERS:
  1. Get rapid tested during check in with either a test provided by the camp or an unopened, unexpired test provided from home. The test will be conducted by the parent or guardian who is with the camper.
  2. Bring results from a laboratory performed PCR Covid test performed within 72 hours of arrival at camp.
  3. Bring documentation of a laboratory confirmed Covid infection in the previous 3 months before arrival at camp. Camper must also be asymptomatic.
  4. Campers returning for consecutive weeks need to be monitored at home for symptoms and should stay home from camp if they are showing signs of Covid.
As of now, mask wearing indoors is optional. If you want your camper to wear a mask, please pack a supply of CDC approved masks. If these protocols should change, parents will be notified via email.

HEALTH CONCERNS WHILE AT CAMP
We will utilize the outdoor exam space at the Health Center for campers who require medical attention. Our onsite Camp Nurse is available to campers and staff 24 hours a day.
Should a camper exhibit any symptoms related to COVID-19, they will report to the Health Center and a rapid test for COVID-19 will be administered by the Camp Nurse. While awaiting the results of this test the camper will be comfortably isolated under supervision until a test result is confirmed.

Should any camper produce a positive test, it is the parent/guardian’s responsibility for the camper to be picked up at Quinipet by an authorized adult within 3 hours. No camper testing positive for COVID-19 will be permitted to stay overnight on camp.

If a camper has been in close proximity to someone who has developed COVID, parents will be notified. The families of any camper who is required to leave Quinipet due to COVID-19 will be issued a pro-rated refund.
We are grateful for the patience and understanding of our Quinipet families as we navigate these regulations to ensure the best, and safest experience for our campers this summer.
