Road, Run-Off, and Storm Water Improvements

9/9/2013

A smooth road means so much more than just a gentle ride through camp.  Blacktop and road surfacing is key  in our run-off plan to catch all the storm water and get it back into the aquifer before it goes “overboard” back into the bay. Beyond water catchment, a smooth road allows for those with mobility concerns to move freely on the property. Perhaps they can’t go walking on the beach, but moving up and down a new road free of  sand and pot holes makes it safe and fun for everyone!
  • Install dry-wells to direct water back to our shallow aquifer on Shelter Island
  • Install and re-grade roads to funnel water to these dry-wells
  • Blacktop to secure road surfacing and create an even surface for handicapped accessibility
  • Project can be implemented in 5 - $25,000 segments throughout the property
  •  Naming Rights to the unnamed Quinipet Road

Total Estimated Cost:  $125,000
