UPDATE 11/19/13: The Willard Lodge project was a marathon endeavor started and finished in February 2013 when the furnace (installed in 1962) put out its last breath of warm air. We did not get to complete our original wishlist below, but new heating and air-conditioning were installed along with a new ceiling to conceal the new efficient ductwork.
Willard Lodge was built in the 1960’s as the central meeting space for a three-building complex. It faces northwest toward Southold, NY, overlooking a giant campfire ring, then out to the water. It houses groups almost every weekend. The heating system is the original unit in un-insulated ductwork. The electric service would also need to be updated to handle the full load of air conditioning. The main room has a low ceiling that we would like to remove. In its place we would install pine planking like we have in the main dining room and then add better, more efficient lighting.
Total Estimated Cost : $67,000
Projects to update and maintain the property are an ongoing endeavour. We do our very best to keep Quinipet functioning and looking good for everyone.
