Retreat Leaders Handbook:
The link below contains a handbook full of information that will be of great use to you while you are on your retreat.
Everything from what to do in an emergency to helpful hints about supervision in groups. Knowledge is the key to a successful
retreat and we hope this will help you in your planning. Remember YOU are responsible for your group. You have
insurance covering your event provided by your organization and parents are trusting you with the welfare of their children.
Please take time to orient your retreat participants to the buildings and grounds. Always remember to review:
-
Fire Exits / Fire Alarms
-
Dangers of currents
in our water -
What to do if someone gets hurt -
Respecting personal space -
Who to talk to if they are uncomfortable -
Bathroom policies
-
Supervision regulation

Meal Service:
For interested groups, meal service is available.
Our food service program can provide you with a variety of options and will customize a menu to suit your needs.
Meals are served in a central dining hall. Meal service is limited depending on the season. Typical retreat menus are from Friday Dinner to Breakfast on Sunday but we are flexiable. Linen Service:
Based on your group’s needs, Quinipet can provide linens, blankets and towels
in Jesse Lee, Asbury and Bobilin. Should you choose this service, there is an additional fee depending on the building;
the fee is about $10 p/person. This is a “self-serve” service.
This means we simply drop off clean linens to your building and pick up dirty linens.
You are responsible for making the beds on a daily basis.
Meeting Space: All
of the year round facilities are equipped with a TV and DVD/VCR. Most media outlets can be arranged for presentations.
Often the meeting space and dining area are shared, but using
multiple buildings can eliminate that overlap. Additional
space can also be provided for meetings. Our large three-season dining hall
can be used for meetings, along with Wesley Hall for indoor activities
in foul weather.

Quinipet is committed to providing your group with excellent service, as we work with you to make
your group’s stay uniquely wonderful. We can accommodate all of your hospitality needs, including meal service,
outdoor programming and transportation. Quinipet’s location makes it ideal
for outdoor educational opportunities for youth and adults.
Quinipet and Shelter Island await you and your group. For
gatherings up to almost 200 people, 140 in the “heated” season, Quinipet can put a package together to suit your
particular needs.
We are now offering a way for your group to check your own availability
for your retreat. If you click on the link below, you will find a calendar, buildings and availability
listed for your convenience . After reviewing our availability, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page
or give us a call if you have further questions.

Reserving
Your Retreat Buildings: Once you have an idea about what cabins/houses or buildings you want, give us a call or complete
the form below to check availability and price. The buildings are rented at a per/building fee for most
retreats. You may then assign a per/person rate based on the number of participants. Most groups book about one year in advance,
but you can check Quinipet retreat availability at the above link or call us any time of the year to discuss the
retreat possibilities. A deposit is required to reserve your space and a retreat-planning guide will be
sent to you upon request. Our
buildings are “self-serve” which means you will be responsible for taking out your own trash, making your own
beds and gathering dirty linens (linens may be provided for an additional fee, but please ask in advance) and leaving the
building in good condition for our cleaning staff. This helps us keep costs down. You
are also responsible for orienting your group to the dangers and surroundings of the campground. Please
ask staff for assistance with this if you are a first-time group. After checking availability with the link above,
please complete the following to request more info about a reservation! Lauren, our Site Use Coordinator,
will be happy to assist you!
