Advanced SailingCome sail away, come sail away, come sail away with us! If you can't get enough of sailing and time on the water, come join us for our Advanced Sailing Program. Campers should have completed Quinipet's beginning and intermediate sailing programs or have equivalent sailing experience. Our program is designed to teach sailing skills in a fun, supportive and above all, safe environment. Expect to get wet and spend up to eight hours on the water each day. Campers must be capable swimmers and pass a swim test at the beginning of the week in order to participate in sailing camps. Quinipet's sailing program is an official US Sailing Center with US Sailing Instructors at the head of each program.
Fine Arts A & B (*8th to 12th)Fine Arts camp is a growing opportunity for campers to explore their creative side. Growing from one 'Do a little bit of everything' camp, we are now expanding to a more defined curriculum for two weeks instead of one. Each week will also include all the best parts of summer camp also, with chances to go swimming, enjoy camp fires, skits, games, and just having fun! Though we do not accept responsibility for lost or stolen items, campers are welcome to bring tools, brushes, paints, cameras, or other instruments that they use at home.
Fine Arts A will explore the use of ceramics, pottery, and working with tangible, three dimensional mediums to create art. Each camper will receive a sketch pad to work in all week and should walk away with two to five pieces of art at the end of the week. Fine Arts B is geared to the Photographer and Painters out there. We'll look at composition, types of cameras, laying out a picture, and if there is time, framing. Campers will get a chance to explore the grounds looking for a new perspective and taking tons of photos. Instruction for both camps will be lead by local and staff hired artists. Rock the BoatAt Rock the Boat you will be captain of your own kayak and work as a team to crew a sailboat in and around the waters of Shelter Island, as well as go on other boat related adventures. Come ready to spend a lot of time on the water. Campers must be competent swimmers and pass a swim test at the beginning of the week in order to participate in Rock the Boat.
Travels with FriendsCome and explore the best of the East End of Long Island. Traveling to a new place each day, Quinipet's unique experience is a great week of adventure for any teen. Every day you will explore a new part of the East End.
Senior High Assembly (SHA)High School Campers Unite! This camp is designed for our older campers who want more of all the fun times Camp Quinipet has to offer. This event is always a cutting edge camp with topics and activities older campers will enjoy.
Senior High Assembly 2.0Not ready for the summer to be over? Either are we! Instead of going home on Saturday, Campers can keep on having fun and get ready for one big adventure. Traveling from Shelter Island to upstate New York, we'll be taking Senior High Assembly on the road! Geared to continue the adventure of Quinipet in a new environment, SHA 2.0 is great for previously enrolled campers or new campers who want to go hiking, canoeing, and other new experiences.
