AquaticsThis camp combines the best water sports Camp Quinipet and Shelter Island have to offer: Sailing and Kayaking. You will learn the basics of both sports while also learning about water and boat safety. You will also get to enjoy all the favorite Quinipet activities - swimming in the bay, campfires, fun, games and more. This camp is a great introdcution to both sports under the direction of certified and professional leaders and instructors. Campers must be capable swimmers in order to participate.
Beginning SailingQuinipet's sailing brew is ready to get out on the waves, are you? Come and learn to sail at Quinipet. Our program is designed to teach basic sailing skills in a fun, supportive and above all, safe environment. Beginning sailing is open to all everyone interested in learning how to sail. Expect to get wet and spend between 5 and 7 hours on the water each day. Campers must be capable swimmers in order to participate. The Quinipet sailing program is an official US Sailing Center with US Sailing Instructors at the head of each program.
Intermediate SailingCan't get enough of sailing? If you have been through Quinipet's Beginning Sailing program or have other sailing experience then come try out our Intermediate Sailor program. It's designed to teach sailing skills in a fun, supportive and, above all, safe environment. Expect to get wet and spend up from 5 to 7 hours on the water each day. Campers must be capable swimmers in order to participate in sailing camps. Swim tests are administered on Sunday after registration. The Quinipet Sailing Program is an official US Sailing Center with US Sailing Instructors at the head of each program.
KayakingCome and explore Shelter Island like never before. At Kayak Camp you will captain your own boat in and around the shores of Shelter Island. No experience is necessary - just a willingness to try something new. Jay of Shelter Island Kayak Tours leads our kayaking adventures and has years of experience teaching and leading kayaking in the sheltered water of the island. Campers must be competent swimmers and pass a swim test at the beginning of the week in order to participate in Kayak Camp.
Kayaking 2Under the tutelage of life long kayakers, Kayaking 2 will explore not only the shores of Shelter Island, but the skills of the sport itself. We'll learn how to use a skirt, perform a water exit and, with time, begin mastering paddling techniques. Campers must be competent swimmers and pass a swim test at the beginning of the week in order to participate in Kayak Camp.
Pink ThunderThe big sister camp to Pink Lightning, this is a program just for young women, which includes everything we love about Quinipet - Swimming, campfires, games, arts and crafts and more. We also take time to celebrate the wonders and challenges of being a young woman growing up in the modern world. So come and join us for the special program designed just for you.
